Tuesday's results

SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN 1, JACKSONVILLE 0: At SHG, Kenzie Wieland won a pitching duel by throwing a one-hit shutout as the Cyclones won a Central State Eight Conference matchup.  

Wieland finished with 15 strikeouts and no walks. SHG scored the only run of the game in the fourth inning when McKenna Norris doubled with one out and scored later on a passed ball. 

Kenzie Law was the tough luck loser for Jacksonville. She gave up just two hits, striking out eight and walking two with no earned runs. Addie Blimling had the one hit for the Crimsons — a single in the top of the fourth.  

ROCHESTER 19, DECATUR MACARTHUR 1 (4 innings): At Rochester, Samantha Cory drove in five runs and the Rockets won a Central State Eight Conference game.  

Cory had an RBI double in the first inning and a three-run double when Rochester batted around and scored 14 runs in the second. She plated another run with a bases-loaded walk.  

Mylie Deatherage went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs, while Jaelyn Watts contributed a two-run double. Eleanor Schudel finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and Bella Harness had a hit and ended with three RBIs.  

Deatherage struck out seven, walked two and allowed four hits, including giving up a solo home run to MacArthur’s Kylee Jackson in the top of the first. 

CHATHAM GLENWOOD 16, SOUTHEAST 0 (4 innings): At Chatham, sisters Cassie and Kate Feld both had home runs as the Titans won a Central State Eight Conference contest. 

Kate Feld had a three-run inside-the-park homer in the first inning and Cassie belted a two-run homer in the second.  

Ryleigh Kiel tripled and scored a run, and four Glenwood pitchers threw one inning each and combined for a perfect game. Cassie Feld was the winner with Irie Lorenz, Jenna Hazard and Sophia Feld each recording three strikeouts and no walks. 

LINCOLN 21, DECATUR EISENHOWER 0 (4 innings): At Decatur, Madisen Wurth threw a perfect game in a Central State Eight Conference rout.  

Wurth struck out nine and walked none. Regan Kutz gave some offensive support, going 2-for-4 with a triple and driving in four runs. Wurth had two hits and two RBIs, and Grey Gilbert had two hits with a two-run double, and she ended with three runs scored. 

Faith Eckhardt tripled and supplied two hits and three runs for Lincoln.       

AUBURN 5, PETERSBURG PORTA 2: At Auburn, Skylar Meats had three hits and Meena Taylor struck out 12 in the Trojans’ Sangamo Conference win.  

Meats had an RBI single and a run-scoring double. Taylor Patterson went 4-for-4 and Piper Taylor finished 3-for-4 in the win. Addison Wheatley doubled, tripled and scored two runs for Auburn.  

Aubrey Vogel finished 2-for-3 and scored twice for PORTA. 

BUFFALO TRI-CITY/SANGAMON VALLEY 16, WHITE HALL NORTH GREENE 4 (5 innings): At White Hall, Kamryn Sturdy went 3-for-4 with a double and delivered five RBIs in the Tornadoes’ nonconference win.  

Lexie Patton added two hits and three RBIs and Kenzie Chandler and Audrey Cooper both scored four runs, and each had two hits and an RBI in the victory. Tri-City (20-3) finished with 15 hits.   

WILLIAMSVILLE 16, NEW BERLIN 0 (4 innings): At Williamsville, Elle Smithers recorded two hits with a triple and drove in five runs to lift the Bullets in the Sangamo Conference.  

Naomi Roberts had a triple and a home run, driving in three runs and scoring three. Norah Dodsworth finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Zoey Beard had two hits and two runs for Williamsville. Reese Larson also had a two-run triple.  

Winning pitcher Hope Keenan threw 3 2/3 innings, allowing two hits with two strikeouts and two walks.    

HAVANA 7, MANITO MIDWEST CENTRAL 3: At Manito, Jadyn Stone and winning pitcher Hannah Hodgson drove in two runs to help the Duck secure a win.  

Libbie Johnson and Abby Cowell chipped in two hits apiece and scored two runs each for Havana. Kaydi Miller went 2-for-3, scored a run and had an RBI.  

Hodgson threw a complete game and yielded three hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts and five walks. 

NOKOMIS 8, RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 3: At Nokomis, a five-run second inning helped winning pitcher Reaghan Jonas settle in as NHS posted an MSM Conference win. 

Camryn Engelman (2-for-3, two runs) had a two-run single in the second and she finished with three RBIs. Cloey Dirks went 2-for-3 with three runs and Ella Huelson collected two hits and drove in a run.  

Jonas went the distance, striking out seven and walking one. She allowed seven hits and one earned run.    

AUGUSTA SOUTHEASTERN 15, BEARDSTOWN 3 (6 innings): At Beardstown, Augusta racked up 14 hits and hit four home runs in the victory. 

Beardstown was limited to three hits and losing pitcher Shelby Goodrich had one of those hits, including an RBI. 

Kenzie Griswold (3-for-3, three RBIs) had two home runs and Zoey Griswold (2-for-4, four RBIs) and Tegan Rigg (2-for-5) also homered for Southeastern.  

STANFORD OLYMPIA 10, ATHENS 0 (6 innings): At Stanford, Athens mustered up just two hits and fell in a Sangamo Conference game.  

Preslie Buckmaster had the two hits for Athens. Winning pitcher Danika Frazier struck out six and walked three and Frazier and teammate Shelby Finchum drove in two runs apiece for the Spartans.  

PANA 10, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 7: At Pana, Joey Laker finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs in a South Central Conference win.  

She delivered a 2-RBI single in the first before ushering a 2-RBI double in the fifth. 

Laker also picked up the win in the circle. She gave up four earned runs on eight hits and no walks in a complete game. She struck out four. 

Shelby Ashcraft went 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs. Kennedy Bowker led off the order with three three hits and three runs while Izzy Reed and Norah Kingery had two hits apiece. 

PLEASANT PLAINS 4, PITTSFIELD 2: At Pittsfield, Faith Nestler fanned eight in a complete game and both of her runs allowed were unearned.  

She gave up five hits and one walk. Addy Davis and Delaina Manuel each posted two hits for the Cardinals.  

Maddie Moore scored the opening run in the fifth inning on an error and Davis further capitalized in the frame with a 2-RBI single to left field. 

Emma Wombles took the loss with 10 strikeouts in a complete game. She gave up 10 hits and one walk with three earned runs. 

RUSHVILLE-INDUSTRY 3, HAMILTON WEST HANCOCK 2: At Hamilton, the Rockets scored three runs in the top of the first inning and held on for a West Central Conference win. 

Rushville-Industry scored its first run on an error and Elliot Hood tripled in two runs for a 3-0 lead.  

Winning pitcher Italee Ford went the distance, striking out nine and walking none. She yielded four hits and two earned runs.   

MATTOON 11, TAYLORVILLE 0 (6 innings): At Taylorville, Kamryn Conlin had three hits and Camryn Lee drove in three runs as Mattoon won the first game of a doubleheader. 

Winning pitcher Hanna Griffin limited Taylorville to six hits, striking out 10 and walking zero. Reece Brockelsby went 2-for-3 for Taylorville.   

MATTOON 9, TAYLORVILLE 8 (8 innings): At Taylorville, the Green Wave scored a run in the top of the eighth inning to sweep a doubleheader.  

Taylorville tied the game with a run in the seventh after Kyleigh Heimsness tripled and Grace Rogers drove her in with an RBI groundout.   

Heimsness finished 3-for-3 with a home run and three runs and Rogers concluded with three RBIs.     

HILLSBORO 10, VANDALIA 2: At Hillsboro, Anika Camp struck out eight in five innings to lift the Hiltoppers to a South Central Conference win.  

She gave up one unearend run on three hits and three walks.  

Aubrey Evans manufactured two hits with two RBIs and two runs, including a triple. Peyton Chappelear and Briley Kirby led off the order with two hits apiece. Audrey Schultz had a hit with two RBIs. 

GIRLS SOCCER 

ROCHESTER 3, SPRINGFIELD HIGH 0: At Rochester, Drea Smith and Jaden Stockton each delivered a goal and assist en route to a Central State Eight Conference victory.  

Stockton assisted Smith’s opening goal before Taylor Offer scored on Charlotte Beatty’s assist. Stockton padded the lead on Smith’s assist. 

Alyse Day had seven saves for the Rockets, who improved to 12-6-1 overall and 5-3 in the CS8. SHS dropped to 10-7 overall and 4-3 in the league.

GIRLS SOCCER

PLEASANT PLAINS 4, ATHENS 0: At Athens, Raelyn Brammer scored the opening goal and Greg Bryan picked up his 750th career win as both a girls and boys soccer coach at Plains. 

Grace Sabatka poured in two goals after the break, along with Caroline Willenborg, to lift the Cardinals (20-1, 5-0 Sangamo) to the outright Sangamo Conference title. 

CARLINVILLE 2, PANA 0: At Pana, Jordyn Loveless tallied two goals in a South Central Conference win. Jessica Strubbe and Reece Inman each had an assist. Savanna Siglock had one save.

BUFFALO TRI-CITY/SANGAMON VALLEY 2, RAYMOND LINCOLNWOOD 1: At Buffalo, Hayli Ferriel knocked in the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning en route to an MSM Conference win.  

Lexie Patton started the inning with a walk and moved to second base on a Tiffany Farley sacrifice before scoring on Ferriel’s single.  

Audrey Cooper scored the other run for the Tornadoes (19-3, 3-0 MSM) on a Patton groundout.  

Lily Woodworth earned the win in a complete game with 11 strikeouts. She gave up no earned runs with two hits and two walks.  

Tori Elvidge took the loss in six innings with five strikeouts. She gave up two runs on three hits and two walks.  

ROCHESTER 10, WILLIAMSVILLE 5: At Rochester, Mylie Deatherage homered and finished with two hits, five RBIs and two runs in the nonconference win.  

Eleanor Schudel supplied three hits with an RBI and two runs. Peyton Purves also scored twice on two hits. 

Jaelyn Watts tallied the win in a complete game. She gave up five runs on seven hits and four walks with seven strikeouts. 

Madison Kloba homered and finished with two hits and three RBIs for the Bullets. Izzy Nowack and Bailey Wherley each had two hits. 

CARLINVILLE 4, NORTH MAC 2: At Carlinville, Hallie Gibson shut down the Panthers with eighth strikeouts in a complete-game victory.  

She gave up two runs in the seventh and ended with six hits and three walks allowed. Gibson also dished out a hit with a run. 

Addison Ruyle belted a two-run home run in the third inning to go up 4-0. Chloe Pope had two hits with an RBI. 

Taylor Keirs had a 2-RBI double in the seventh for North Mac. 

LINCOLN 3, PLEASANT PLAINS 2: At Lincoln, Morgan Sheley hit the walk-off RBI single in the seventh inning for a nonconference win.  

Regan Kutz picked up the win in relief. She threw 1 1/3 innings and gave up one hit and one walk with no strikeouts.Â
