Check your ticket: Winning $1M lottery ticket sold outside of Springfield

A winning $1 million lottery ticket was sold outside of Springfield recently.

The winner has not been named, but the winning ticket was bought at Party House at 1818 W. Morton Ave. in Jacksonville, the announced May 3.聽

The big winner joins two other recent winners of the $1 million prize, both Chicago businesses.

For selling the winning tickets, Party House in Jacksonville, BP on South Western in Chicago, and Millennium News and Views in Chicago will each receive a selling bonus of one percent of the prize amount, or $10,000.

The Million Instant Ticket, part of the Illinois lottery system, is a scratch-off ticket game with three top prizes of $10 million, 15 prizes of $1 million and odds to win $500 on any ticket sold in Illinois.聽

Overall, nine players including the winner of the ticket in sold in Jacksonville have won the $1 million prize, leaving six lucky tickets left to win the remaining millions.

Since January of this year, more than 22 million Illinois Lottery Instant Tickets have been sold, netting players over $563 million in prizes.
